On occasion, I get a blank image, totally dark, when shooting normally, sometimes in between perfectly fine images. Everything on the camera seems as it should be. Has anyone else experienced this? It happens once in a while, only, and is not the end of the world, but it is mystifying.

I have the same problem, the first image after power off or after sleep is occasionally black.
I haven't brought my E-P1 to service yet, but I recommend that you do if it is still covered by warranty.

It happened to me a couple times when the lens / mount wasn't fully twisted on.

Thanks to both of your replies, I feel a little less lonely. I am out of warranty, and it may well be that the lens wasn't not on tight enough, as you suggest. It still is my favorite camera for general use, and like the rest of the list waiting to see what the E-P3 is like. thanks again for the replies.

happens occasionally with the 7-14 panny lens a quick remount fixes this

Great! Now it's happening to me! I was out shooting some night shots tonight and it happened to me twice!

I usually don't have to do anything to fix this, I just press the shutter again and it starts working like a charm.

This has happened to.me with the gh2. A quick readjustment of the lens fixes it.

We are then talking about different problems.
