ill risk ridicule here and say this , any official admissions by a company in the pickle that olympus  is in has nothing to with reality and everything to do damage control . like most high crimes ,coming from high places,in order  to gain an understanding , even a vague one ,of what actually traspired one must resist the excuses of official voices  and rely instead on an assay of the fact as they are known and as they come to light .

for me the leadership has lost 100 percent of its credability even as it has lost 70 percent of the stock value a horrible situiation for the shareholders and alsofor the communiity of customers olympus courts from the shooters here to medical imaging  and microscopes and other optical centric businesses

so heres what i think happened

olympus used to be an optical company with  a few different divisions.... it was like this for many decades as olympus garnered the respect and buying dollars of  the professional medical and professional and  non professional photo community and the scientific community as well

this changed and olympus suddenly found itself involved with left field financial "interests" absurdities like waste disposal and cosmetics among them

what i gather from this and others have as well is olympus is now deeply involved with organized crime either by choice or coersion

this shady episode with inflated payments of almost 2\3 of a billion dollars to usa japanese citizens [perhaps as few as2 or 3]  involved in a now dissapeared cayman island concern stinks of pure theft and pure fraud ,

offical nonsense does not seek truth but advantage, and always have
