I think people just enjoy watching Thom eat his own words from the past.  His biggest complaint now is  “There’s surprisingly little differentiation in key features of the three cameras.”.   And they are using "confusing marketing" tactics because the Olympus USA web page lacks details.  I'm guessing the web page was updated by an intern who wanted to go home early for 4th of July break.

Fact is, Olympus has 38% of the mirrorless market share in Japan now, up from 29% last year.  And the E-PL2 is the third largest seller out of all DSLR cameras.  Not bad focused marketing in my opinion.  Establish a strong foundation in your home country, then expand out.  Especially in today's U.S. economy where most people can't even get a home loan or are worried about foreclosing.

well said there............. ;)

We all are authorized to make negative statements about Olympus.

Doesn't appear that way to me.....

I think people just enjoy watching Thom eat his own words from the past.

This is sad.
So the choice is to ignore his positive MFT comments, and instead languish in his individual suffering......

Truly sad.........

Some extracts from Hogan's blog:

Quote
Are these cameras as good as a low-end DSLR in image quality? Yes, with some minor quibbles with the m4/3 models, which are lagging slightly in dynamic range.

Could you abandon your DSLR for one of these? Maybe. There are things you give up and things you gain. But if you're asking in terms of image quality and lens quality, then the answer is a little split, but probably yes

And  finally..

Personally, I put my money where my mouth is long ago: I've been shooting with the m4/3 bodies and a wide assortment of m4/3 lenses for over a year now, and am quite pleased with the results. They substitute for a light DSLR on days when I don't want to carry a DSLR,

Sounds like he's fair & balanced to me.... 8)  Looks like some people are only focusing on the negative and ignoring his positive comments...
