Good blurb, and that he buys them, instead of being given them for a review.

Well done Olympus. The Pen series is cult and altough I don't have one, I can imagine the E-P3 is the best cam of the year!

Already noted in this message. Photofocus is one of the podcasts and websites I like to follow. Although MFT gear has been mentioned ocassionally by Scott Bourne or his guests, this is by far the strongest recommendation. The two new Olympus primes, the 12mm and especially the 45mm, set the E-P3 apart.

None of the Panasonic MFT bodies do.  Does this mean that this reviewer will never give them an award ???

Well, it is important. for me it is. That is why I will always choose for a Olympus body.

The GX1 is not available yet, so it was not considered. If it proves as good as its specs, it may be a technical improvement over the E-P3 although the "feel" is another matter.

i want the pens to have 20 mp sensors  that work up to iso 800 and pixel bin back to double sensitivity and go to 12800, that way one can shoot high res
at iso 200 without noise penalty but with higher res files ,     and then  shoot with a decent noise profile  at 10 mp for street night  and candid stuff

that to me would be a good compromise for the sensor

give me that with a view finder and some fast zooms and you got yourself a customer!!!
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Why do you want so many megapixels? My computer can't even handle the files from 12 megapixels.

I am pretty close to that too since starting to work with multiple layers and non-destructive editing in Photoshop CS5. I haven't found 12mp to be too few and it still gives good scope to crop for on-screen images and prints of a reasonable size.

I like my E-P3 and it is a great compliment to my Nikon D90. My E-P3 is my fun camera.
Be nice to each other, life is too short for anything else.
