I'm shocked they chose the 5D Mark II.

I mean really, why even compare the two?

Looks like they were compared as they were what the guy owns.
Cameras big and small: Sony HX9V, Olympus E-P1, Canon 300D (IR mod), 7D and many others!

As his reader comments point out, why on earth was he using ISO 800 and 2500 for studio work?

"I was given the request from a co-worker/reader to make the two duel it out to see if the Olympus EP-2 is worth being called a professional’s backup camera. As a studio shooter these days, it only makes sense to see if the two can stay toe to toe in the studio."

Love that 5D Mark II.  Always awesome.

He should have used ISO1600 or something like that, gives much better output on the E-Px

cheers

@tom-ep1: No, - he should have used his studio lightening.  And set the two cameras at ISO100.  That's ISO (100) setting is 'defalt' 'studio ISO'.  But if you haven't worked in a studio, you wouldn't know.

Not much interesting, - or educational this article (blog) anyhow.  As one of the commentators say: "Waste of your (the blogger's) time, - as well as mine".  We all knew beforehand what the results to expect after comparing the 5DMkII with Oly's E-P2.  But, then again, I own the two cameras.

They're just not comparable to me. At least how he used them.

I would be curious about all of your takes on the Canon 5D Mark II.  Like?

The Canon 5d2 does not seem to be as good as 5d1 (even though it's three times cheaper to buy). Though you get live view and full hd video but if we're talking about still quality, 5d1 is my favourite of these two. I've got E-PL1 too.
