Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.4 <VS> Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f1.4

What are the distinct differences (pro/con) between one or the other (except the 40mm is US$ 100 cheaper in amazon) and why would one prefer one over the other? I am not familiar with these lenses but its' looks, build and samples left me drooling.

Don't know anything about IQ, but with their focal lengths they fall into sort of a no-man's land in MFT for me: I don't care for anything between 27mm and 50mm, it's neither standard nor telephoto and I don't like the perspective they deliver.

Ok, so after this noob read more... if I understand this correctly, these lenses respectively become a 70 and 80mm focal length lens if mated with my ep-1. Which falls 'somewhere' in medium telephoto?
and there's also that rough bokeh issue @ larger apertures where the 35mm performs slightly better than the 40mm (from another thread).
Seems to me at the end of the day, the 35mm is the better bokeh maker, but more bang for le buc is the 40mm.

man...this reminds me of those days when I had to choose between a .357 SIG vs. 40S&W.... same dilemma, different forum. (btw I'm not a gun nut. But I feel that these two obsessions has so much in common)

Well, to be precise, the lenses' focal lengths are 35mm and 40mm and that will never change whatever camera you mount them on. These focal lengths indeed provide sort of telephoto on MFT cameras, albeit on the short side (for my taste). The lenses in question offer about the same angle-of-view as 70mm/80mm on a 35mm film camera of yesteryore, that's why everybody is talking about equivalent focal length and all that. Once you get used to what lenses do on MFT there's no need to talk about equivalent focal lengths anymore.
