Bee Macro (E-p1 + Zuiko 50mm 1.8 + Vivitar 4x Macro)
« on: April 16, 2011, 04:20:14 AM »
I went out with my Zuiko 50mm lens + Vivitar Macro 4x ring on top of it and captured this picture in my garden.
I cropped it a bit.

That's an excellent photo, man. I guess you had to wait a long time for the bee to show up on the flower (I tried chasing one today and it totally didn't work).
BTW, what is this Vivitar Macro 4x ring? Is it a 4 diopter attachment?

Thanks Adash,
I was really surprised when I saw the picture back home on the computer. Heavily cropped and still enough details.
The vivitar close up is a small ring of glass that you can put on the lens.
Here is a link http://cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220745388509

It came with the OM 50mm 1.8 lens. I got a lot of extras when I bought the lens. A couple of those vivitar macro things, filters,....
At first I didn't know what is was, but now I know :)

It was actually very easy capturing the bee. They are all over the place and where not afraid of me (where most people are :o......joke  :) )

Even though it is a tight crop (I too am Guilty of this at times  :-[), The bee is covered in pollen and totally oblivious to you. The colors are rich. The thing I like with Close-up filters, is you don't lose any light like you would with extension tubes.

I like the crop better, theres not two subjects competing for the eyes attention. And its sharp where it needs to be so no prob.
