What do you see in the Viewfinder?
« on: September 09, 2011, 09:23:09 AM »
When I at Jogging park last week, I took a photo of a jogger and a biker.... Posted in the BW area... But what I did not "See" was the jogger on the far right....As it turned out, that jogger added a lot to the final image....

Has this happened to you?
Does it still happen?
Did you like the results?  Or did it ruin the "Moment"?

Any examples of a photo that had unexpected element in it, that made it work never-the-less?

I'm going to have to look through my images, but I had this one hilarious incident happen where I went on vacation, and was in a hotel with a massive mountain view through the window. I had forgotten I took that picture through a mirror because my E-P1 did such a great job making out the detail, even through glass... But after processing it in lightroom, I noticed there was an exit sign with a little logo of a guy running on the side of the mountain, and exhibited it on my website! It was quite hilarious at the time. Need to find it...

Of course this happens all the time. I miss so many things when taking photos that would make the photos so boring if they weren't in them.

Happened to me quite a bit in the first few months of owning my E-PL1 but not in a happy accident sort of way. Would focus on one element of the shot and when look back at shot there's a bin or something in the foreground.

Did however take this shot the other week playing around with my ND Filter concentrating on the waves and didn't think about the yachts in the background. But i think ads a nice effect to the overall shot.

vdub_er, yeh I like that.....

A couple years ago I was in NYC at ground zero.  Was taking a shot of one of the statues there and completely missed (don't ask me how) the guy in the background staring at the site of the WTC.

Some rather heavy PP later and he is of course now the main subject of the shot.   Sooo much going on in his head...

Thanks Acidfood.

A really good picture with the PP to change the focus of the photo, especially for where you've taken the shot and the location of the man above the edge of the suitcase.

The G1 Contax I think is 90% with parallax correction... the whole view shifts, not a frame line shift... The clever OVF has a ZOOM that matches the focal length mounted.  Leica frame lines are around 85%, BUT, you have the area outside the frame you can see also..
