What's going on with Fuji?
« on: April 01, 2010, 12:26:46 PM »
It seems as though there are a lot of reports today (not related to April fools, I hope) that are indicating something is coming from Fuji. Micro Four Thirds with the Super CCD sensor would be nice.

I fear that permanent live view is a problem with a Super CCD  this size (heat).

I also fear Fuji marketing guys are afraid of not having HD video, which I suppose is also not possible with Super CCD (speed).

(just speculation)

I am dreaming of a fuji MFT with Super CCD and would buy it without knowing other specs.

Regards,
hannes

Wouldn't it be possible to have some kind of cooling system for the sensor?

I am no specialist.
But is there any CCD large sensor camera with Live View? I think that it is also a problem speed-wise.
I thought that Super CCD is even worse.

Can you give sources for the reports you are talking about? Everything I saw clearly were April 1st jokes.

I am not a specialist either, but it seems to me that it might be possible to have a beam-splitting prism and thus two separate sensors - one superCCD for still photos, and another for LiveView and HD video.

I still wouldn't discount the possibility of having a Super CCD Micro Four Thirds camera. You have to remember that it has a smaller area than an APS-C sensor, so although it takes up twice as much energy and heat, it's still covering less area.

I'd love to see a Fuji 43rds camera that is amazing in low light and could really care less about the video. So come and join us Fuji, I'll buy one.  ;D

That's good to hear, sannin,
It will be good for consumers to have more options from more manifacturers to choose from.
I will also love to buy a m4/3 lens from Sigma, when available.

I don't know. A small Hello Kitty sticker and it would be the talk of the town.
