The Mirrorless Industry and the Search for the Perfect Camera
« on: January 20, 2012, 02:03:15 PM »
I'm writing a two part article on the explosion of mirrorless.  Part 1, published today, discusses history and the current market, while Part 2 tomorrow will discuss the future, including the OM-D, Fuji X-Pro 1 and the unknown.  Thought you might like a read...

I like your style...
But, Why can't I follow your blog? I have a few myself with Wordpress. I don't mean RSS either. There is no "Follow" option in the upper left of the page.

Very good read, I think the search will never end, not soon anyway. For me Panasonic will get there if they keep on the same mindset, I want at least 2800 lines of resolution ( which is what 35 mm film does more or less) and a good ISO 6400 in low light. Peak focusing, phase tracking, 11evs of real dynamic range, minimum shutter lock, and no aa filter.
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Thanks.  Part 2 has been posted and is in depth on the most recent mirrorless cameras, including the rumored OM-D.

I find it interesting to compare the success/failure of digital mirrorless cameras in comparison to the success/failure of mirrorless film cameras  :)

You raise a great point with the search of the perfect camera. Every generation has this struggle. And each generation has to deal will the current tech. and manufacturing limits.

And in 10 years or so, our "Perfect Cameras" will be UN-perfect for them, and the saga continues.  :)

Thanks!  I really appreciate it.  I hope I can keep up the quality.  I'm hoping that eventually I get a partnership with a store or something to be able to do reviews of equipment without having to purchase it first.  :)  (I'll also gladly take borrowed lenses for review if anyone wants to lend one for a review of a lens or camera I don't own.)
