Good article and it makes a lot of sense. I always believe in "less is more" when travelling and am planning accordingly for my big trip upcoming. We m4/3'ers can be smug in our knowledge that we could fit a PEN + 3 lenses in the same space as a DSLR+18-200!

Yeah, When I had a Pentax K20d, 16-45, 105, 70-300 Grip. it needed a good sized camera bag... now I can carry a G3, 20, 14-42, 55, 135 all in a National Geographic Waist pack... camera around neck.....  --- Smug ----  ;)

I like bringing a few lenses with me, and m4/3 is such good and light weight system with great IQ too.... So, I smile when I see another photographer with a weighty DSLR or slung around their neck.  ;)

Did you read this one feedback on that article, where this person admitted that he carts around 35 pounds of gear in a backpack when on a trip?!  :o  And no, he wasn't complaining or moaning about it either.

When I went to Costa Rica a few years ago after hummingbirds my camera backpack was 60 pounds.  It was miserable tot ant it around the country.  For my Greek trip this past spring I took 3 lenses and 2 m4/3 bodies, nor IR and one color in a tiny shoulder bag at about 8 pounds!  I had a much better time and still got world class images!

Something doesn't sound right with his gear/weight    1 D3/2 f/2.8 zooms and a laptop for 35lbs?

Yeah, IQ is here now with m4/3 and now we will see some more 1st class lenses in the 2 cycles...

Throw in a Hyperdrive, 3 backup drives, a tripod, and some Lensbabies. Those Lensbabies really must be heavy.  :P Ouch, my back hurts simply rereading his post!
