First photoHoliday with m4/3 cameras
« on: November 25, 2011, 02:10:36 AM »
Hi All, just returned from a few days 'photo hol' in the Lake District ( Cumbria).
Having always used my Nikon gear I decide to try out my E-P1 & Lumix G1, using Olympus lense on both bodies. I must say now the Olympus lenses performed superbly well so I am well pleased with them.
The E-P1 body was ideal, I used it on my monpod as I was not using a tripod. The large screen being great for Landscape work. The Anti shake system is very good at slow speeds.
The 'G1' fine for 'walk about' shots & better on the Monopod as expected. The viewfinder/  screen were a pleasure to use.
I did have some troubles with a few items of control but that is due Ithink to not knowing the camera well enough.
Over all a great learning experience with both cameras but My best & favourite shot was taken in 'Cathedral Quarry' cave, a place I have finaly visited after many many years.
I am working on the Images & will Post Here , flickr & Face book,
More soon.

E-P1 great camera for this "Oldie", at 80 I want something light with good glass & a useful screen size Plus a good anti shake system
 this ticks all my boxes!!
G1 ok. the Oly' lenses work well with it.

ps I am an old Olympus film camera Fan, still have my OM1+ 50 mm 1.8 lense ( fab stuff)

My E-P1 is now my only camera, and it works great.

Most of the time.

Great!  I did a trip to Greece this past spring and only took a E-P2 Color and a E-PL1 Infrared and was more than satisfied!

More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...
