As many of you already know, I am a huge supporter of the m4/3rds format... After shooting with many different compacts and dslr's, I picked up an e-p1 and have not regretted it. It has been my constant companion ever since.
In the time since purchasing the e-p1, many have asked for my advice regarding camera purchases. Every one of them had needs that could easily be met with a m4/3rds camera. My cousin wanted a camera with the convenience of a point and shoot and the quality of a DSLR... She had a limited budget, so I recommended a Panny G10. She loves it! Another cousin was looking for high quality in low light and fast focusing. For that I recommended the e-pl3 and the 20mm f1.7. I've never seen him so happy with a camera (I got to try the 20mm on my e-p1... What a difference!). Even a coworker joined the club when he bought my G1 to take pictures while hiking with his family.
The only person I was not able to convince was my brother. As he is a professional guide in Alaska, I thought the gh1 (new at the time) would be a perfect camera... High quality pics, excellent video, and very easy to carry for days at a time. He decided to go with a canon 7d. He's really happy with it, and insists I need to pick up a "real camera" like him.
He almost had me convinced (especially with a wedding gig coming up this summer), until I looked through "first year" and realized that i would not have been able to create that book without my e-p1. That realization was reinforced by shooters like Lisandra and Pretzston, who have shown just how much is possible with m4/3rds in a professional capacity.
So now that I've made the decision to stick with m4/3rds, I just wanted to thank the members of this forum for convincing me!
