I really think you'll love the E-P3 a lot more than switching to another system.

I would rent the biggest camera and a huge bag full of lenses with strobes to shoot at the wedding.  And get one of those fishing jackets with all of the pockets for more lenses and batteries and all that good stuff.  Take at least 5,000 photos.  Photoshop all of them with soft focus sepia filter and fairy princess sparkles.  Make sure you use heavy noise reduction so that everyone looks perfect.  Sit with the customer to help them choose which photos they like and will pay for.  Then re-evaluate if you want to do another wedding in your life... ever again.

I always find it ammusing looking at pro portfolios that all the brides look like professional models.
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Tell me about it, almost seems like cheating, doesn't it?

lol, but I think you misunderstood the question. A nikon 7000 is not more expensive than the E-p3. And still portable.  I'm not talking about strobbos and stuff. You can take wedding pictures with a cellphone too:)
It is about finding a compromise between quality, price and ease of use. You only can spend your money once. At least I do:)

Errr, the Nikon D7000 is almost $1000 more expensive than the E-P3.

I been on the verge of getting a new camera, possibly full frame or closer... But I'd NEVER get rid of my E-P1! I don't care what critics say or reviews, but the 17mm lens, amazing! I use a Canon FD 50mm on my E-P1, and even if shots are blurry, I always feel they come out as professional as some would on full frame cameras. In fact, I almost feel like buying a full frame camera means you are buying the phrase "full frame," and not something that will improve what good achievements you already gain with what you got.

M43 in my opinion is the future of cameras. I am so glad I got my E-P1 instead of the Nikon D-90 years ago (even though the D-90 was cheaper!) The E-P1 is my first... (can I say at least "semi-pro" camera?) I ever got, and I was able to reproduce almost every photography skill I've wished to learn with it (except FLASH photography, I SUCK AT IT!)

Visit my website to see if you think anything I take is worthwhile if you'd like to try to convince you as well.

Peace!

its portable until you start getting into decent glass. This is with the smallish A55, the glass is really sharp and very pro, but its simply impractical to take with you anywhere. Its on a shelf all of the time until I have a job to do

Believe me, 6-8 hours of this during a wedding and youre gonna really start to feel it. This is without the hood, and the photo makes it look so much smaller, in reality is twice as big as the panny 100-300. Its also twice as heavy. The whole thing with a shoe mount flash is bout 10 pounds.
If youre getting into a DSLR, youll soon find yourself more and more leaving your camera at home, so a second camera will never stop being a necessity. All in all, if youre inclined towards it, you can get the nikon and keep the pen for day to day

An interesting article comparing
Nikon 5100 with the E-P3
http://mashable.com/2011/08/21/camera-battle-d5100-e-p3/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Mashable+%28Mashable%29#23881Olympus-PEN-EP3
Here the conclusion on IQ :
Quote
What about picture quality? Even though the Nikon has a bigger sensor and packs more megapixels, I noticed very little quality difference between the two cameras. Some of us thought there was better sharpness in the Olympus camera, which we think is due to the higher quality of its lens. Even so, the picture quality of the two cameras was similar in low light conditions and outdoors, and was not different enough to be a dealbreaker either way.
