So, how many of you REALLY keep your Pen in a pocket?
« on: February 19, 2012, 07:39:43 PM »
It has come to my attention, that many Pen users don't want anything but Pancake Lenses because of the "Pocketibility" of the combo.

So, how many REALLY DO wear Cargo pants or Light Jackets that afford you to stow your Pen/Pancake while not shooting?

I like the smaller form factor. BUT, not to transport my camera.(it isn't ever-ready in a pocket) I like it because I can have 1 body/lens (on my neck) + 3 other lenses in a small belt pack, that weighs MUCH less than a compatible DSLR with a similar lens FOV offering.

So, do you really carry your Pen/Pancake in a pocket when you not using it?

I keep it in my jacket pocket when I take it up snowboarding.  Other than that, I usually have my murse aka tablet bag with me that has room for camera and 2 more lenses.

It's not really small enough, honestly.

I've kept mine, with the kit zoom retracted, inside the pocket of my parka during an evening of shooting around in my brother town. It fits quite well and there are no probs in extracting it.

This time of year, I often carry mine (with the 20/1.7) in my coat pocket. The rest of they year I don't wear anything with big enough pockets.

The E-P1 is too big for my pockets. I aways carry it around my neck (leather strap).

I can fit my E-p1 in my Postal short's pocket, but it looks rather suspicious... :-X

Otherwise, I carry my D-Pen in my hand, I refuse to use a neck strap.

I can fit my E-P1 + 20mm in a normal fanny pack and walk around completely unobtrusively with nothing dangling from my neck or shoulder. I can put my 45mm in another pocket and I'll have a photographic powerhouse where I used to carry only a P&S.

My kit lens fits nicely in my pants pocket when I have the 40-150mm on my E-P1 though.
