Hmm. I don't even know what a One Touch WB is for. Hehe.

Yeah, I'm used to select Manual White Balance on my camera, then take a picture, then go into the menu to select that as the "white". Lot of work, One Touch White Balance seemed like a great idea but I think it's incorporated poorly.

But I suppose I have the problem with more things, you can assign a lot of functions to buttons, but you are still stuck to what they think is best for each button. If I set my shutter button to Mode 3 (which makes the AEL/AFL button available for Single Focus), I can't lock the AEL anymore. Now I can't say that I really use it that often, but I'm also like - why can't I bind that function to the Function key itself. You're free to customize the buttons, but only to what Olympus predefined.

If I'm honest - I dont really make use of this function. I usually flick through the presets until I get something 'close' and fix later in RAW processing. I take it one touch white balance allows you to take a reading from something - say a white sheet?

Since i figured out how to select white balance according to Kelvin temps, I moved the DOF preview back to my Fn button. I use that all the time.

the One-touch WB requires a white card (or maybe a grey card--I haven't tried that yet). You hold the Fn button, and press the shutter while pointing at the card (focus isn't important, and it's probably better to be out of focus, IMO), and it will return a new white balance. Simple to use, but you need a white card to do it. Kelvin temps you can eyeball. (hold down the +⁄- button while turning the wheel to change the K-value)
