Battery life in excess of 1000 exposures...preferably with a BLM1 so I can stop carrying 3 chargers or more with me!

Alternatively, battery pack grip...

Thinner screen with less border.
Cameras big and small: Sony HX9V, Olympus E-P1, Canon 300D (IR mod), 7D and many others!

GPS trick.  Use the bluetooth adapter or wifi SmartCard to upload to your phone and then post to google+.  It will geotag the photos based on your current location from the phone.

E-P3 is almost everything I have wished. I haven't bothered to check if it records video in more compact format than MPEG, but that's about all.

One wish I have for Olympus. I wish they will competite with Leica M series and the discontinued Epson R-D1, that is, make a rangefinder system camera. I know it is extremely unlikely to become true. The cameras of Pen lineup is sharing the same modules, and a rangefinder camera would require developing a rangefinder which has frames for 3-5 most important primes plus a mechanism which allows focussing with it. The market will accept almost any improvement to the existing models easier, and that kind of improvement can be used for all the existing cameras.

Unlikely or not, I think there is some demand in the market, and looks there is willingness to fulfill it, too. Panasonic took a long step to that direction:

http://www.dpreview.com/news/1109/11090102fujifilmx10.asp

Just add interchangeable lenses!

EDIT: A closer loo makes this camera look less spectacular than at first glance. Its mainly because it seems to lack manual focusing when using the optical viewfinder. But my God, she IS a beauty!

The X10 is a nice camera, but as Fujifilm is famous with doing, they took the X100 and made something that let everyone down afterward.

- Fully articulating screen
- OLED screen
- video at 1080p @ 60fps but also 720p @ 60fps with same format H.264 as CANON do (550d, 600d...) hence enabling easier postprocessing for slowmotion
- video with full control of the parameter (shutter speed etc...)
(see
More Super Slow Motion [Water] 550D
)

- NOT only AVCHD please :-).............

- diorama enhancement (as panasonic GFX1) : speed selection ... etc

and...

- more stabilisation for the video mode (SONY Hx100v seems to be a reference)

So you think that both the E-PMx and E-PLx models should have the same features then?

Not necessary to be full articulated but rotation of the screen make the foto shooting easier...

I hope Olympus will reinforce the E-PL4 with large video features, effects and available format as mentionned before

Hence OLYMPUS with this small beautifull camera can be a real challenger for those how just choose CANON 550d/600d only for the video feature available

Even if OLYMPUS PEN and CANON 550d/600d are not considered to be in the same range of cameras, OLYMPUS hybride PEN CAMERA is liable to be a real predator for OLD CANON/NIKON reflex... !!!

Trend market analysis seems to confirm this evolution.

Just another think, the metal above the E-PM1 box seems to have a better quality/visual aspect than the one of the E-PL3.

Percieving quality seems to be at the TOP on E-PM1 and.... just a little bit below on the E-PL3

For me E-PM2 and EPL4 are on the way of a real marketing success story... with key feature to be incuded

Internal flash. At least. I was annoyed that the P3 has one and the PL3 not. My PL1 has one.

Full support for four-thirds lenses, without an extra third party adapter. I mean you need an adapter, but delivered by Olympus standard in the package.

all functions via knobs, just like for an example the Nikon P7100 or Canon G12

NO, and I repeat NO touchscreen. Eat a nice burger and it's impossible to handle your camera.

I agree that the E-PM1 looks much better than the E-PL3. If it was in the shape of the E-PM1, the E-PL3 would be so much more appealing.

Olympus is one of the leader who provide integrated "effects" on its camera (pinhole, diorama...)

Compare to the other competitor (LUMIX, SONY...) OLYMPUS is far above.

Even if E-PL4 is completely different compare to the CANON 550D/600D range,
OLYMPUS could hunt the CANON 550D market in including not only AVCHD but more flexible video format as CANON does.

Just tape the following word on YOUTUBE :
SLOWMOTION CANON...
->  There are a lot of video in high resolution (nothing to do with poor quality of the Fujifilm, or CASIO) provided by CANON
-> There are a lot af people who choose CANON only for that video option (720p at 60fps in H.264)
AVCHD does not offer that flexibility for postprocessing for sowmotion ...

Only CANON H.264 720p 60fps format seems to be able to provide such a video format for slowmotion video (in high resolution)

OLYMPUS can really become the CANON DSLR 550D and 600D killer
And be on the top of the brand with video "effects" integration

key words : not only AVCHD but 720p at 60fps in H.264 (as CANON) , slowmotion in high resolution after postprocessing

What an excellent thing would be on the p(l)4 is something I have on the XZ-1. The possibility to give the manual focus ring on a lens a diffirent job to do. On the XZ-1 if you are in P modus, the ring on the lens adjusts the ISO. In A, aperture etc etc.

I think the ring on the lens to adjust ISO, shutter speed...  is samsung one of the key feature of SAMSUNG cams what they call "iFuntion" on the Nx200...

For my point of view I'd prefer the setting to be as SONY Hx100v do (small rotative bottom allowing to set the good seting with only one finger of the right hand in PSAM mode)

But I agree that full personal setting (shutter speed, ISO, aperture... is fully required on E-PL4

And that this parameter shall be allowed in video mode.

Anotehr feature I would like to be implemented in the E-PL4, is the "What you see on the screen is what you are going to shoot" as SONY Hx100v, a65, a77 do : that means that once you have selected the ISO, aperture, what you see on the screen is completely what you are going to get in your photography.
