Olympus E-M6 wishlist
« on: February 12, 2012, 07:24:40 PM »
It's never too early to start wishing for the next camera in the OM-D series, so what would you like to see in the E-M6 or whatever Olympus calls the next camera?

I'd just be happy to receive my E-m5, LOL.  But maybe the sony sensor would be nice, as well as higher def evf and oled display.

I think they really missed the mark not including 1/8000 of a sec.

ISO 100

It *really* annoys me not having it on the e-p3 at times.

And 'we took it off 'cause ISO 200 has same low noise but better sensitivity' or whatever it was I read recently is a stupid argument.  200 is only better than 100 in terms of sensitivity IF you want a short shutter speed / small apeture.  If you want a large apeture in bright light or a slow shutter it's a pain in the rump, esp given that diffration starts to ruin sharpness a lot earlier on a m43 sized sensor than it does on FF - I really don't want to shoot above f8, but it's difficult to keep even low powered (250w) studio lights low enough at ISO 200.

I spend more time removing sharpness than adding it...

Im with Ralph, I've seen iso's as low as 80, how come the em5 is limited to 200?  Oh well, I still can't wait till it arrives.

I agree on the ISO 200 thing, sometimes you really need ISO 100.

I don't think any Micro Four Thirds camera has ISO 50?

the DSLRs that do, it is most likely a firmware adjusted ISO,
But a low ISO like 50 would be great for fast glass in daylight.

I'm with you on the ISO 50 issue but, at ISO 200, f8 with 250w bulbs you'll basically get a dark frame even at 1/80 of a sec. Unless you're using like 8 250w bulbs...

Now that the camera has been reviewed by a lot of people, what do you want in the E-M6?

Tested ISO 200 for the em5 came actually to be ISO 120. I guess I have to ask for something it would be 1/8000 shutter and a better vf
