The grain on high ISO is amazing. Too bad the GX1 is one ugly camera (same sensor, right)?

Yep, just not as souped-up.

Got a few more samples of some G3 files, all shot with the PL 25/1.4 and LR3 PP and NR:

f/1.4, iso 6400

It's okay, not great.

f/2, iso 6400

This one turned out quite well.  Don't know why, but the 1024 size is not available...odd.

f/2, iso 5000

Not bad, it's okay, nothing great.  Click the pic for access to larger sizes.

f/2, iso 2000

Love the detail in the focused eye, it all looks good for an iso 2000 pic.  Click the following for the full size image.  This one lost it's 1024 image as well...odd

I love your ISO 6400 photos. They give me hope for Micro Four Thirds!

I ran a couple of the high iso images through CS3 and Neat Image to pull more out of the images:

ISO 6400, pushed to ISO 12,800
LR3 edit:

ISO 6400, pushed to ISO 12,800
LR3, CS3 and Neat Image Pro edit:

Yes, there is some detail loss in the last edit.  Other edits were also performed in CS3...

ISO 6400
LR3 edit:

ISO 6400
LR3, CS3 and Neat Image Pro Edit:

My current edit helps 'pop' the image, and helped clean up some more noise.  Some, but not much, detail loss is evident...

if anyone ever doubts m4/3s again, ill link them to this thread. Those are amazing to say the absolute least. the ISO 6400 pushed to 12k is very very beautiful. A tribute to that beautiful cat. My only real complain about panasonics high ISO is how fast they add a magenta cast. I usually get around it by selecting a black point (black point dropper) on the levels dialog in photoshop (in that case it would be the cats eyeliner area) but its still annoying to have to do so.

Actually Id love to see that...think you could do the black point dropper thing? its easy as pie and Im really curious as to what itll do to it. Sometimes it does miracles!!!

More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

It was not a good conversion, and I tried it several times...

I'm still amazed by the ISO 6400.
