Zuiko Om 55mm 1.2 VS. Hexanon AR 57mm 1.2
« on: August 04, 2010, 02:36:32 PM »
I'm trying to fin opinions on the web about these two lenses.

Does anyone have an idea which one behaves best with a micro 4/3 camera?

I saw already the threads regarding these lenses but my doubt lingers...

Thank you!

With the OM lens you'll be able to buy the MMF-2 adapter and use metering on it. You won't have the same ability with the Hexanon lens.

Voyager, I think you are mistaken. The OM lens is adapted via a mechanical adapter like every other lens system. You will have metering on both OM and Hexanon lenses. MMF-1 and MMF-2 are adapters for 4/3, not OM glass.
I think that the more important aspects when addapting sich legacy glass would the resolution, sharpness, aberrations and coating behaviour.

Thanks adash, that's what I'm really interest in. It's about the end result I'd like to hear about.

Thank you both for your input.

No, the MMF-2 adapter is for OM lenses. Specifically. I might have the name wrong, but I know that one of them is.

It is the MF-2. It is a simple mechanical adapter, as far as I know.
Metering works with any adapter, I already have several custom made but very simple ones and metering is okay.
