Urgh don't like that bokeh, it's very harsh. Guess that's what happens when you put a f1.2 lens designed for full-frame onto a m4/3s camera though :)

i would love too see some examples of good bokah vs bad cause im not sure if i get it , is it the shape of the out of focus highlights?   is it internal distortions or patterning within them? is it the blade silhouette of their form ? their sharpness as circular disks? what causes a consesus of what  is good bokah , or bad ?
in the first shot , for instance on the rangerover top shot the bokah , at least toward the center , are pretty circular and become somewhat more ovoid near the corners  and some smaller ones seem directional perhaps depending on the angle of the highlight they are the blurred result of .
ive heard it said that 50s dont have good bokah but i find the 50 1.5 nokton to be nice
......i think

info would be welcome

Probably not the right forum topic to talk about bokeh. But in my opinion is not the shape of the out of focus highlights important (well, the blur circle should be round when using a good lens) but how evenly they are illuminated.

Attached two sample pictures showing magnified blur circles. The first one was taken with a prime lens which gives me nice bokeh, the second was taken with a zoom lens which provides bad bokeh.

The test shots of this Canon 55mm shows the same highlights as the "bad" example. And I don't like the bokeh in picture of the watch nor the one of the keyboard.

Thanks for the explanation. The original image up to have been re-done in lightroom with increase saturation & contrasts.
I am attaching some more un-retouched samples:

What Joebee said.....to get really smooth bokeh you want perfectly round and evenly lit highlights. The EF 1.2 is neither round, nor smoothly lit. I'd imagine there's light going all over the place behind the lens with that beast attached to the front :)
