Samyang MF 35/1,4 anything to look at?
« on: June 09, 2011, 08:01:11 AM »
Since my Voightlander 25mm f/0,95 ain't going to be shipped for months to come, well, I need another lens with good quality and since the f/0,95 isn't critical to me the Samyang MF 35/1,4 AS UMC might be something to look at?Unfortunately it's manual focus only but I can live with that.

So what do you think? Buy or not?

It's the first time I hear about this. Since when is it available?

Not available in Sweden yet and I don't know about any global release.

You find a picture at this swedish onlineshop - link

That looks enormous.
Also, proceed with caution with retrofocus lenses faster than F/2.
Check samples at aperture wide open when they arrive.

You may want to look at the Voigtlander 35mm f/1.4 MC in the Leica M mount.. It does quite well on m4/3 body's.. $580 at CameraQuest - scroll down to find 35mm f/1.4
