Q: Help with Pen F -> mFT adapter
« on: September 12, 2009, 12:11:49 PM »
My Jin Pen F -> m43 adapter arrived today from China. Fits well onto the E-P1, but I'm not sure I've got the lens side (Pen F 38mm/F1.8) right.

a) I can only squeeze-screw the lens on so that it kind of sticks, but it doesn't really lock - shouldn't it?

b) there is no movement of the "aperture lever" (not sure what the proper term is) inside the lens, so that changing the aperture setting on the lens doesn't effect anything.

I mean, I can take great portraits at F1.8 (which is why I got the lens in the first place), but I think there's something wrong either with the way I try to connect the adapter or with the adapter itself..

Anyone with experience with this adapter? Any help appreciated

Hi Nikoedii,

the aperture will not change without the adapter, so don't worry about the lens  :), have the RJ-Adapter too with a G.Zuiko 40/1.4 on it, this is normal.

Try to mount he lens on the adapter first before mounting on th E-P1. If you look of the front of the lens you have to screw the lens to the left. If this is not possible, try to push down the left button on the lens near the metringscale (you need this too if want to unmount it). If you mount the lens correct and then change the aperture you can see it if you look through the lens. If you have further problems, i can make a short video tomorrow for better understanding.
