Panasonic 45-200 or Oly 14-150
« on: March 14, 2010, 12:55:23 PM »
I've been using the kit 14-42 for a while and quite satisfied with it's IQ.  I need better reach most of the time and thinking of getting the Panasonic 45-200.  Now that we have the 14-150 I have 2nd thought.  If the IQ of this Oly 14-150 is comparable, I don't mind to carry one lens instead of 2.  Any recommendation?

With any superzoom, you do have to sacrifice some quality. So if you would really like to only carry one lens around, then you'll have to expect not so good quality at the wide and telephoto ends of it. On the other hand, if you get the two lens kit, you'll most likely see a much less substantial drop in quality in your photos.

I rather take the better IQ and stay with 2 lenses.  Thanks for your advice, voyager.

I doubt there is a huge difference in the IQ of these lenses and the convenience of the 14-150 is compelling. I already have the Olympus 14-42 and Panasonic 45-200 and am contemplating the 14-150 as a travel lens.
Be nice to each other, life is too short for anything else.
