I ordered it! Thanks, Voyager!! I just missed getting this lens for $109 at Staples a few months ago so I ordered it right away. $149.99 + shipping $6. It is not a done deal, however. They're not shipping until August--which is o.k. for me, but I also received the following conditional:

I got the same message, but then I got a separate backorder message saying my account wouldn't be charged until the lens was shipped out.

Wasn't acquiring this lens tied up in a decision you were about to make to dump a Pentax you've been shooting?

Yep, the only way I could work around this was to buy the lens, and if I love it then I have no problem getting rid of the Pentax. If not, then I get to sell it for more than I bought it!
