I bought the MMF-1 4/3 - micro 4/3 adapter because I wanted to try the other Zuiko glass that's now available rather than wait on new micro 4/3 offerings. It seemed pricey for a hollow tube, but it is well made, looks like part of the camera when mounted and does have the electrical pass through. There is a side benefit to the adapter. Now I don't have to pay the high prices of other micro 4/3 adapters, I buy the 4/3 adapter instead usually at less than half the price. As an example I bought the OM to micro 4/3 for close to $100 on eBay. The OM to 4/3 was less than  $10 and is a better fitting adapter. I just bought an M39 to 4/3 for $13 shipped. The M39 to micro 4/3 is around $50 on eBay.
Addendum 10/19/09: Apparently only the Om>4/3>m4/3 combination works. Just got the m39>4/3 adapter today and it definitely does not work. There is no infinity focus; in fact there is no focus at any distance using the lens' focusing ring.

I buy the 4/3 adapter instead...
Sounds like you are doubling up adapters?
Isn't there problems using 2 adapters at once?

My only experience so far is with the OM to 4/3 adapter and no problems at all. The M39 should be here this week. Don't expect any problem, but I'll post after I try it.

Do your lenses focus past infinity when doubling up adapters?

So, did I got it right: using any other lens except of the m4/3 lenses with an adapter and you will not have AF (autofocus) on the Pen ? Or are there exceptions ? I checked the Simulation on http://www.four-thirds.org/en/products/matching/index.html but didn't understand the whole thing.

Right now the only lenses that maintain autofocus on the m4/3 cameras are the Oly 4/3 lenses (and I believe there may be some exceptions here also). I'm using the 4/3 14-42 on my E-P1 with the MMF-1 adapter and it's just like having a m4/3 lens mounted.
