There's some sort of malfunction with the kit lens on my E-P1. When I try to autofocus in low light, it refuses to get focus, and when I put it on manual focus and move the focus ring, it keeps trying to autofocus, and then puts up the "extend the lens" message on the LCD. This problem goes away when I'm not doing long exposures. Thoughts?

I can't help in a specific way as I've not experienced this but I seem to recall reading somewhere about resetting the lens being possible. Worth looking into. If I can find the relevant information I'll post it.

Also cleaning the contacts on the lens and body might be helpful - if there's a poor contact due to grease etc who knows what kind of weirdness could result.

Fingers crossed that it's a simple fix.
