I am experiencing a problem with manual focusing using the Leica D 25/1.4 Panasonic lens on the EP-1 using the Olympus 4/3rds lens adapter.  In short, the display can get stuck in zoomed mode using manual focus.  Does anyone else have this problem with the same setup?

In more detail, turning the focusing ring on the lens in manual focus mode will automatically take the display to the 7/10x zoom view.  The display should go back to the non-zoomed view if you half-press the shutter button.  However, when half-pressing the shutter button with the Leica, often the display shows the normal view only for a fraction of a second and then automatically zoom backs in, even though the focus ring hasn't been touched.  It doesn't happen every time but often enough to be a real problem.  The only way to get the display back to normal view is to refocus again and hope it won't get stuck again when doing the half-press on the shutter button.

I do NOT have this problem with my Olympus 12-60/2.8 lens using the same adapter nor the 14-42 kit lens.

Can anyone confirm if they have the same behavior with their setup?  I don't have any other bodies to test the Leica with to see if the problem is because my lens is somehow defective or if it is a general incompatibility with EP-1.  Thanks.

I'm actually using the complete manual mode, not the S-AF + M.   I'm not sure what happens in S-AF + M.

Sounds like something that has to do with the firmware.

Joe, thank you for confirming the issue with your E-P1 and Leica D 25/1.4.  Have you filed a support issue with Olympus?  I have not as yet but perhaps there is a good way to get the problem noticed by Olympus, e.g. some kind of X amount of people can attest to the problem. 

And yes, I don't have a solution.  I did upgrade both the camera and lens firmware when Olympus released v1.1 but the problem still persists.  I have also tried wiggling the adapter but there isn't a clear correlation between that and having it automatically zoom back in it.  However, testing it just now, I did cause it to disable the focus ring completely when I wiggled the adapter.   I've never had that happen before though and I can't be sure the wiggling precipitated the event.   In any case, "normal" manual focusing (i.e. with the intermittent zooming problem) only worked once I shot a picture.
