Hi,

I've bought a 9-18mm last month, and I never use my 17mm anymore, because of the speed and the sound

Now I'm going on backpacking in asia, and I also want a zoom lens. I'm doubting between these two lenses.

The 14-150 seems to be the nicer lens, but costs almost twice,.. is it worth it?
And how big are the lenses when not zoomed and when completely zoomed?

So at 14mm it doesn't stick out at all?

Any suggestions about what lens is better?

Yes, it is shortest at 14mm, longest at 150mm.

I think the two lenses are roughly the same quality and size (the 14-150mm weighs about 3 oz more), so choice is largely about cost and convenience. The 8-19mm and 14-150mm would make a great 2-lens kit. The 40-150mm is a better companion for the 14-42mm kit lens.

I used the 14-42mm and the 4/3 40-150mm with adapter for awhile but found that neither lens was optimal, and I never seemed to have the right lens on in the common 25-50mm range. So, I got the 14-150mm and am happy with its flexibility and quick focusing, and that it replaced two lenses.
