75mm Color Heliar
« on: July 20, 2009, 01:31:58 PM »
Another thread mount lens from Voigtlander, mounted using the L39 thread adaptor on the VM to MFT adaptor.

With the crop factor this is a very small 150mm tele equivalent. No bigger than the kit zoom (when extended)!
Even on a sunny day, and in a strong wind, I was able to focus it OK.

I have some lenses with L39 mount. How it works with the 2 adaptors?, I asume that I have to use l39 to LM adptor and then a LM to m4/3 adapter.

Excuse me for jumping in here...

Yep, you just "stack" the two adapters (although the L39 to LM adapter is so thin that you barely notice it). Works seamlessly... I use this setup all the time, as all my Leica/Voigtlander lenses are of the L39 variety. It doesn't matter which focal length adapter you use, as you don't need to trigger the correct frame lines in the viewfinder like you would on a real RF camera.

Hi Dop,

Thanks for posting. Interesting compact tele option for m4/3. I have heard that the Color Heliar 75 has some problems with purple fringing / CA at high-contrast areas / specular highlights. Do you notice that at all when using this lens?

Not noticed any problems, then again I've not gone looking for them!
