Wollensak 1/2" (13mm) f/1.2 Raptar Wide Angle lens samples *****

This lens vignettes severly, Its just about ok for square mode.

Personally I like the effect though, Its pretty sharp when you find the focus even wide open.

Portraits with it are fun, but not everyone apreciates a camera 4 inches from their face.

Heres a sample stopped down with the vignette edited out.

Theres definetly something wrong with the focus on mine, its really stiff and keeps shifting closer - when I first got it it was able to focus at infinity, now I'm lucky to get 4 feet. I'm planning to take it appart and see if I can get a better focus mechanism set up.

Its an odd lens, especially as its so long for a wide angle; its 100mm long.

Great photo's,  I like the portrait of the woman the best.  I'm into tube (valve) audio, what is the one in your picture?                                                                   www.snakephoto.blogspot.com/2009/11/hct-fatman-dared-hybrid-tude-amp.html

Cheers, yeah the lens is a lot of fun - I use it to get pretty unique night club photos at the moment.

The tube amp I built - well its not technically a tube amp, and I didn't build the circuit boards, its sort of a homage to the look of the (really) old tube amps/receivers its a tube buffer pre-amp circuit wired to a Tripath TA2024 T-Amp board all housed in the smallest case possible, its tiny : 80mm x 110mm x 35mm.

Although that doesn't include the power brick which is nearly the same size. Thanks to the digital T-Amp it packs quite a lot of power for such a small unit. The speakers are pretty small as well - satellites from a Loewe Surround sound system. I build a lot of hifi stuff, although mainly speakers, as the electrics are a nightmare to actually build and sell legally, plus I understand speaker design slightly more than circuit design
