Vivitar 75-300mm f/4.5 *****
« on: February 05, 2011, 01:04:32 AM »
Hi all.  I bought this lens for super cheap on eBay ($18 plus 12 for shipping!).  It's really big and heavy, and looks and feels pretty weird on my E-P1, but I've been loving it!  Check it out!

Does anyone else use a big, crazy lens like this on a PEN or other M4/3?  It's fun, and so cheap for so much magnification and clarity. . . .

Wow, the PEN is fun!

Great sharpness I see! Which lens mount?
BTW, I will now add this to the Archive Index.

ThanksAdash.  I've been wondering if anyone else out there is using one of these.  Mine has an FD mount for Canon.

Here are a couple pictures I took with it this morning.  I'm loving it!

This looks like a great lens!
Unfortunately I don't have this lens. I would also be more keen on an M-42 or Pentax K-a mount so that I could use it both on my Pentax and E-P1.

The morning photos look a lot better than the night! Is it just me or does the forum produce some sort of mottle in night photos?

Hi Crossquill,

Great Pic! i've just got my epl2 and would like to try out some of the cheaper non-native lenses like your Vivitar.

Can you pls advise which adapter you used for this lens on your EP1?

Thanks.
I just love my Olympus E-PL2

These are available in a number of lens mounts. Check the exact one your lens has, it could be Canon/Nikon/Pentax/Minolta/M-42/etc.

This lens seems to have a very nice IQ overall but I'm wondering which particular version your lens is, is it simply the f4.5 to f5.6 version of could it perhaps be the more rare f4.5 version that came with one of the first autofocus units ?

This the one ?
My personal reviews, you might like it!
