Logically, once I post shots taken with the FA43 Limited I must follow up with the FA77 Limited. This is a little more ungainly on the body, but still totally usable. I actually shot a session with this combo today and I love the results. Sample photos will be posted in a moment.

I did a model shoot with my daughter today. For fun I picked up the E-P1 and actually like these shots more than the formals! Focusing was a dream. I love the rendering as much on MFT as on Pentax. In case you are wondering, the noise is a deliberate part of the processing.

I am thinking these were f/5.6 at ISO 200.

I believe both of these were f/2.8 at ISO 200. Schweppes was fairly close and the tape measure was definitely at closest focal distance. So all the bokeh is before the plane of focus.

I must say, the 77mm looks much better on a Pentax camera than an Olympus camera...but the photos are still just as lovely.

Looks fine on the P1. About max size that the house allow for a 'balanced' look, maybe even a bit oversizing it?

Don't know anything at all about Pentax cam houses or lenses, other than brand having a good reputation. Isn't there a Pentax 70mm 'pancake' around, as well?

The adapter to increase the registration distance is the culprit.

Yes, there is an excellent DA70 lens which is a stop slower than the FA77. It is also smaller, but not so much once a hood is added.

The DA70 would be cheaper option, The colors and textures are so nice with the FA77..

The DA70 is also a lovely lens but misses the special magic of the FA77 rendering and is, of course, over a stop slower. More to the point, it has no aperture dial.

Huh... I used to own Pentax... I guess I forgot that DA lenses uses the Camera for f/stop control. I always had 3rd party lenses that did have f/stop rings like the film lenses.
