For an old timer, leaving a lens hood home is a scary thought  ;)
But I guess the new NANO-COATINGS are very good. Still, having no indirect light on the front element was always a good thing.
I give the advise, but I myself never take it off, its an extra protection on the lens. The nano coating seems like one of those gimmicky things, but with a direct strong light in front of the lens flare is extremely well controlled. It's quite a thing, I was expecting way worst.

I would really prefer for Oly ZD to make their own full set of pro lenses with SNAP focus. I don't like the idea of losing functionality or ergonomic ease of use by switching to non-ZD lenses. It's irritating to have different lenses from diverse manufacturers in the same gadget bag, each with their own operational idiosyncrasies. That doesn't work well in the heat of a shoot where one is constantly switching lenses.

And where is the Pro Pen already!?! Some of us want a digital OM4!

I started a topic on a digital OM-1, I almost called it a digital OM-4  ;). Of which I owned at one time, along with an OM-1md, and OM-2s

The biggest problem (if you can call it that), is the focus ring direction.. That can cause a lost opportunity at times.

Well, having a great 25mm f/1.4 under $600.00 is a good thing for many.
Now for a 17mm f/1.4 to make a holy trinity: 17mm f/1.4, 25mm f/1.4, 45mm f/1.8  :D

I hate it again. First off, the 1/60 of a sec minimum that panny put on the lens on a mode is not enough. Not without os at least. 1/80-1/100 should have been the norm. I did Studio shots of some kids that want to start a r&b band. 10 out of 16 are usable/sharp/infocus.

Love, love, love this lens.  It's got such a beautiful rendering....All at f/1.4 in ambient light (I think these are all at ISO 1250):

This is slightly out of focus, as she moved towards me just as I fired the shutter...still, I loved the look enough to overlook that small issue:

At f2 with minimal constant light at 1/2 power from the right side and 1/4 power from the left side...

Number 1 is gonna be the promo poster for an upcoming event (hence no square.crop), I did the square cover shot too but that I can't post. they fully intend to become international, but you gotta start somewhere...they wanted an Orange source coming from somewhere hence the weird light setup.

better still, they have some contracts to be signed on the following weeks with some more known singers and they promised me exclusivity as a photographer. So if I play the cards right and have some patience I can use them as a gateway for some uber famous people! Plus Ill be mentioned on the CD! Thats a first, I should put it in the milestone thread.
I NEED THAT 35-100 F WHATEVER (2.0 would be nice and logical since smaller sensor should = larger apeertures, but f 2.5-2.8 would make me equally happy...)

The bokeh was a surpise.

Typical Leica bokeh. No harsh edges or double edges on the OOF areas. And nice featuring... Summicron style...

One from yesterday.  This has been processed to give the soft/dreamy glow.  Let me assure you that there is plenty of fine detail in the image, it just kind of blends away a bit in the web reduced size.  I think I'm going to print this one pretty large.  :)

Love this picture. This is awesome I bet it looks great printed large.
