One interesting thing with this lens is that the AF on the E-P1 seems to work much better with it. It's almost like having a new camera body too. The E-P1 has an irritating tendency to pick up background detail and lock focus on that. This rarely happens with this lens. I can easily focus on narrow things, like the lamp stalk in the top picture. This is almost impossible with the kit zoom and difficult even with the 20/1.7.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if this lens becomes tougher to obtain than the Panasonic 20mm ƒ1.7..... 8)

I did order it about a month ago.. And now my seller's web page says delivery date: 26.10.2011, 4 pieces. BUT: mine was in the mail this very morning. Joooopeeee - uhm, jupie *g*!! So I'm most probably one of the very few lucky ones here in Switzerland, who's got her copy. Can't wait to go and try it out.. Ah.. I wish I could leave work right away.. But, just a few more hours ,-)

PS: that's true with the 20mm f/1.7 - it was hardly available. Then I bought it at last in May for about CHF 550.. And now it's down to CHF 390. But it did serve me well in the meantime.

Here are a couple more, taken so you can see the amount of blur obtainable. Note that sharpening for the web worsens the bokeh a bit in this picture size.

Bought it yesterday, and it was shipped today.
There are still a lot available, in case you can't find it anywhere..

Finally got hold of the Oly M.Zuiko 45mm/f1.8 MSC.  Just tried it to day for a few shots.  Very neat, quality assuring build, excellent handling on the PEN, - and compares well to my EF 85mm/f1.8 (on a 1.6 crop EOS 7D) which I had doing similar work under similar conditions, - except for some difference in the bokeh rendering, the 45/1.8 comes out almost as well.  Here's one of the shots, - the lens fitted on the E-P1.

The 45mm bokeh is some of my fav on the m43.  Even beats the FD 50mm legacy.

20mm is also pretty awesome MOST of the time.

All in all, I like the lens but I find the shallow DOF is much easier to be creative with with a legacy lens and the MF controls.

Aaah that's why I found it beautifull. The hometown of my football club Feyenoord. But I love Antwerp too and that's why I thought that it is in Antwerpen.

Rotterdam is a cool city especially at night with all the lights, water and modern architecture.
A potographer's dream.
I hope I can spend more time there next time.
