Nikon 24mm f/2.8 AiS Samples *****
« on: December 30, 2011, 05:13:42 PM »
Well, another lens I received is the popular Nikon 24mm f/2.8 AiS (Will allow work in Program Mode with bodies that offer it)

A few test shoots a day before I sent it off to have a screw replaced on the mount that stopped it from mounting the full amount to lock in place...

Click on image 2 times to see full-size image.. I just changed the compression to get them under 5mp for upload..

The Truck is mine... And yes, you can easily read the tag number.... maybe I should pixelate it?

Be sure to look at the text on the back part of the truck.... This lens has great resolution IMO... My images aren't the best... but, they show the lenses potential, once I get used to it.

Here are REAL Sample photo's from the Downtown area of a little poedunk 1 light town about a 3 mile drive.
ISO 320 and f/11 mostly. Just got back from my Repair guy at camerarepairs.com.. The mount had a slight bend, and needed to be fixed.

Great photos from a great lens. I wish I could use it on a film camera.

I may get a cheap Nikon FG to use this on... I still don't understand why adapted lens suffer from lower contrast though. On the Histogram, the Shadow end starts at 6-10, not 0. The Highlights are fine though.

That might be a limitation of the camera. Not sure if this happens with E-P1. Which sort of scenes did you see that happening the most?
