This is the Cheapest Pancake on the market. Years ago there are been a discussion on the quite "abnormal" quality in 35mm SLR of this lens. It's true that the simplest constructed lens are sometimes the best and the race to fast lens can seem ridiculous, so by my 58mm Æ’1.2 and the regular 50mm F1.7 that i bought 30 years ago with my Minolta X-700 i had bought it too to know.

Tests are more simpliest now with digital and here with that pic i shoot really without composing or else you can have an evaluation.
(i don't remember exactly the f-stop i used, i put 4 but icould be less or more)

ISO 100 Æ’4 1/640s

And a crop the widow of the tramway at 100%

You can observe a red fringe on the railway reflection down the picture.
I must say to that the design of the tramway is rounded too...

i own a copy of this lens,,, its commendably small and sharp and pretty flat
for an slr lens
