I too am finding these images impressive compared to my own experiments with the kit lens. As soon as I tried it I quickly swapped back the Panasonic 20mm because I wasn't at all impressed by the results I got with the 14-42.

Just had to take a few quick test photos with the "New to Me"
Olympus 14-42 ED zoom I recieved from KEH today....

Nothing earth shacking mind you.

Hell, some kind of a slide projector! I've got lots of slides sitting in a closet somewhere back in the states. Have to wonder if they are any good.

The lens--yes it is pretty damned sharp, but what about handling it? Is it any better than the flimsy insubstantial feel of the 14-42 Mark I?

That's a slide/neg scanner

Don't know about the durability, it seems Ok. not pro grade, but sturdy.

I bought a used one from KEH, and the locking slide doesn't lock, but it does keep in the collapsed state, I can just turn the Zoom control to 14 without unlocking it, not a deal breaker.

I had a pretty good studio session the past week...
I used the Panasonic G3 with the Olympus M Zuiko 14-42 ED MkI
I did not use any skin softening layer on these.... This lens is really sharp in under 10 foot range! and still nice and sharp to INF....

this lens excels in the close up range and to about 15' out as far being really sharp.
Beautiful purple weed flowers, and sharp.
