It is a wonderful lens, lightweight too. Since one can't mount any filter, one just has to be more careful with it - i.e. getting the lens dirty or accidentally getting fingerprints or smudges on the lens.

Some complain that they can't mount a polarizer.  But it's a UWA, so a polarizer will only result in uneven shades.

My version of cross-process :-), new art filter now available on E-P2.

It's ability to squeeze a cramped space in an image is unsurpassed...

That lens is crazy expensive.  Very nice images.  I think I'll wait for the oly 9-18mm or the 8mm before making a decision on which to purchase.

Nice! I would love to have a lens like this, but I don't think I would use it.

Because I don't generally take wide angle photos considering I prefer zoom more. I would love it but would probably rarely use it.

UWA comes in handy from time to time. Seems like a very nice lens and would love to try one out.

It's more like a fisheye to some. A really cool lens that you love when you do use it, but not one that you always end up using even though you expect to use it.

I just got this lens and is using it on EP-2 ...

Really not much choice as this focal length range and I consider this as one of the best choice despite its high price.

And these are from earlier (since I don't think I've ever posted to this archive):

I think the same, - all of these shots, - without a single exception, are wows, - really very good ones.  The last of of the above here (well, it was when I started writing here, - the 'small girl portrait) is simply, yes exquisite.  Would most probable stand out in any collection.  One of those some photogs wish to do all their life.  Perfect in my eyes.  I've done some tries myself with wide angel glass for a (environmental) portrait, and only been ok or so, - it's quite challenging and rather difficult, - bur this one is just 'to the point'.  Congrats!

It is not easy task to find the angle for the lens... but fascinating...

A few shots with the Oly E-M5/Pana Lumix G Vario 7-14 combo for the Lens Sample Photo Archive.

As I hadn't brought other lenses with me on this late PM, I couldn't resist trying out with a few 'portraits' of some of the feathery & hairy visitors from the animal kingdom to the temple grounds at Phratamnak Hill, Pattaya.  I belive the all came out pretty well, - however, it's probably not the recommended lens for a close-up portrait of your true love, :-)  There's surely more fitted lenses fir that kind of job.  On a small kitten, it doesn't 'show up' the crazy proportions that much, though.

The last three, all w/a cityscapes, the lens seems perfect.  Any 'wrongdoings' here, and surely 'the shooter' is the one to blame, - not the nicely built and well operating, high quality Japanese craftmanship lens.  Well worthy it's price!
