A very cheap and popular lens, but also very very good.

Very good indeed. Which F stop is the second photo? I see DOF is deeper than I would expect from a 50mm F/1.7 lens.
I you have a second camera, it will be nice to see how it fits your G1.

I don't remember which aperture I used but definitely not wide open. It was kinda dark in the market and it was severly underexposed at high ISO (didn't want to miss the shot...)

I don't have another camera right now but I can post it when I get a chance. With the adapter it's almost exactly the same as the kit lens.

I have just unwrapped mine..

The lens look great and both the aperture and focus ring work like a charm

Now if that adapter hurries up myself and my Oly will have a great weekend...

Hi,

I own a PEN e-p2 and recently got a 50mm f1.8 canon lens (w/mount) and starting to love it.  Do you think it's worth getting a 50mm f1.7 Konica AR TC lens?

The Canon 50mm 1.8 is a very sharp lens but my favorite  is the Konica 1.7.  The Konica 40mm 1.8 is also excellent and is wider.  At the price get both they may be getting more  expensive as  more people start using 4/3 cameras.   :)

I got the adaptor finally and I am really enjoying this lens... once I got used to the manual focus I was able to take some amazingly sharp photos..

Nice photo dnuckle , I like your Konica camera. Which model is that? I am looking for a Konica to add to my film camera growing collection..

And the more I use that lens the more I like it.. The 40 € I have spent on it on ebay (transport included) are the best spent ones in a long time...

Thanks.  This is the T4 model.  It has been CLA and had the battery conversion done by Weber Camera.  I also have an FT 1.

Got one of these on eBay with a Konica TC body (that's in good shape) for $20.  :)  It's a pretty good lens, with good resolution wide open (though you need to coax it out with some sharpening) and pretty sharp stopped down a smidge.  Interestingly, I find it harder to focus than my other Hexanons (40/1.8 and 57/1.2), even though it's got better contrast wide open than either.  Odd.  Anyway, took this today with it.  It's not much of a shot, but it gives an idea of how the lens renders.  This is wide open:

For the money you paid Jman, you stole it  ;D
It has a nice Bokoh, like most Hexanons. The sharpness is good, and as you say, you can tweak in post a bit.

I got myself a few Konica Hexanon AR's (57/1.4, 50/1.7 & 40/1.8), all neat lenses. (The 57/1.4 marked EE [in orange], the two others AE [in green], - what should be understood by that marking?).

Any advise/recommendation as to which adapter I should get for these (to use with my mFT bodies)?  AR→mFT obviously, but are there any difference that I should know about?  Happy to be advised here. (I do not hold a PayPal account).

All photos here shows the 50/1.7 is quality glass.  dbucle's 'Fruit and Flower' set-up is classy.  I look forward to be able to shoot with the three beauties,

Buhla.de for info on all things hexanon. I have pixco adapters which are not perfect (focus past infinity), but back then they were the only available!
