Well, that's a match for the silver E-P1!
Very good photos too!
Did you shoot them all with the aperture wide open?

some are f2.0 , and somef2.8, I dont remember which one, but You can get the picture. I am waiting better light (spring) for some outdoor shots, to see how lens perform at f4, 5.6.

love the look of russian silver lenses on a silver ep1 too

sometimes a little softness is ok  sharpness isnt everything in a lens , but this optic seems ok

i have the 50 f2 russian lens from about the same era and its ok , but has as interesting look that newer lenses dont give

Really superb. I very much like the first two. Lots of spring spirit here  :)

Nice pics and Sonnar Bokeh!

That silver J-9 is a rather unusual finish, I have a black J-9 (70s) which seems to be the norm. Is the silver an earlier model?

I think all black J-9 are for m42 thread, so for SLR-s, and silver are m39 (LTM) for rangefinder cameras. I think this version is also smaller.

Thanks, I didn't know J-9s in M42 were made. My black J-9 is LTM/M39.

I have Jupier 9 for M42 cameras and I can confirm that it is black and quite heavy.
I do not specially like the lenses due to its rough aperture ring, but the blue of the sky looks great through it :D

These are samples from my Jupiter 9 taken with Lumix G1.

Very good photos. I could find a use for such a superb lens on my Zenit film camera too! Welcome to the forum.

The 85/2 is a great FSU lens, a true Zeiss Sonnar Copy, even to the Bokeh!
These are some great flower examples of the beautiful bokeh it has...
Lovely colors.
