I'm not sure I like this one. Looks too big and awkward for only ordinary image quality.

The peripheral sharpness suffers from excess coma, I think. Maybe you are using it on a format larger than the one it was designed for?

C-mount lenses is clearly not made for photography at all, but 16mm film with a much smaller format. And there are indeed better choices out there for architectural and distance shooting in most cases.

On the other hand are they very interesting and great performers in my opinion when shooting flowers, portraits etc. ;)

The shallow DOF makes it very good for this kind of photography, yes.
