I'm very impress with every result. I happen to have two Canon AE-1 cameras, but one is the rare black manual and I have the silver a/m as well, the manual has a different kind of 50mm lens though.

Anyway, can anyone recommend an adapter for FD lenses? I was looking at this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-FD-lens-adapter-G1-GH1-GF1-Olympus-E-P1-E-P2-M4-3-/260715742786?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb3de8642

Or link to the one you are all using, thanks a lot!

I'd find the "Brass/Aluminum" combo... the brass will be on both mounts, and the tube will be Aluminum.. A studier made adapter..

At first I wasn't too happy with the results I was getting. I decided to go back to the FD50MM, and I am so happy with it! Here's a picture of my son with it:

These are in a crunched low quality at that!

Really nice....
Nice colors as always with Canon FL/FD series.. and the contrast isn't bad at all...

I have an FL version waiting to go to my Local Repair Guy for a full CLA.... and then I get an Adapter.....
The FL will have slightly less contrast do the lack of SCC coatings...  Great for B&W conversions  :D

I'd like to use some FL lenses as well. I do see that they have a more standardized format of coating, looks more glassy than holographic (my term, hehe.)

Do you have any samples of an FL lens on an M43?

I don't have a mount adapter yet... but, I could try "Free Handing" the lens... where I hold the lens in front of the sensor and try to get it focused ...
Someone has tried that with interesting results.

FL 50mm f/1.4 hand held in front of G3 sensor... I found out that I must be out of any indirect  light... I stood about 10' under/in my breeze way for the 1st one, and about 30' under/in the breeze way for the 2nd one.  notice that deeper in the shade you are the better the contrast.... remember, there is a about a 1.5" space between the rear of the lens and the camera body.
Straight from RW2 to a JPG... no adjustments....

Not bad! Is there a way to decrease the space between the lens and the sensor in anyway? In a previous thread I made that you in and cosinaphile commented in, he mentioned a way that you can put a piece of paper between the adapter and the lens so that it increases the focal length...

That would basically be adding extension, and the result would be a closer focus point, at the expense of INF focus.

My Minister has 5 cats! and they are funny with all the things they get into. Last visit, 4/5 were sitting on a table, I tried to get my Cell out my rear pocket, but I tool too long, and one jumped off  :(
But, I am tryng to see if I come over one day to just take pictures of them, in there playfulness.

Great cat photos

This was made with my FL F1.4 II

I needed an image for my wife's card today, played around with the saturation in LR:

I will be adding to this thread in about a week; I just ordered a Canon New FD 50/1.4 and a Fotodiox FD to Mu43 adapter.

Be careful to check out the interior of that adapter, if it is shiny and reflective you might consider fixing it for best results.
