Angennieux 135mm f/3.5 Lens Samples *****
« on: March 05, 2010, 05:24:13 PM »
I used to have a Leica R4 and bought an Angennieux zoom. I liked it very much but sold it with the whole Leica set about 8 years ago.  Later I saw this M42 screw mount Angennieux 135mm f3.5 which fits my first ever SLR Pentax I bought over 40 years ago.   I bought this lens from a swap meet just for the brand name.  Never used it.  My   M42 to m4/3 adapter just arrived and the Cherry Blossoms are everywhere.  See what I got!  I like this lens.  I suspect it could be from a movie camera for that's what Angennieux is famous for.  BTW, It's French.

Stephen, I'm sure you'll be busy this Spring - taking photos on the lovely flowers and show us your collection of old but marvelous lenses one by one.

Beautiful cherry blossoms !

Gareth, This lens is kind of long and crumsy but the result was quite satisfactory.  I also have a Pentax Takumar 135mm 3.5 but the result was far from the Angennieux. I don't bother to show it to you.  I still have a Zeiss Vario Sonnar 80-200 zoom. and the Canon M39 screw mount 35mm which I have to show you the shots as promised.

Beautiful indeed!

I never knew that Angennieux made M42 glass. Seems pretty rear and very good too!

Adash, I didn't know it neither until I saw it at the swap meet.  I knew the brand wouldn't be bad so I bought it just for fun.  I forgot about it and never used it for the last 10 years.  I remember I didn't spend too much on it neither. I was surprised by the quality.

Clarity with lens

Some of the sample images appear much clearer than others.  Have the clearer images been done in post with software or is there a secret in the original taking of the picture?
