[TUTORIAL] Post Images On The Forum! (from other websites)
« on: July 18, 2010, 07:37:08 PM »
Here's a few quick steps for you to learn how to post an image on the forum that isn't hosted in our gallery!

POSTING IMAGES:

First what you want to do is find the URL (link) of the photo that you want to post. You'll know you've come across the URL for the photo itself when you find a link that ends in a .jpg (or a .png, etc). Once you've found this, you're ready to go!

The second thing you'll want to do is post it on the forum (obviously!). To do this you'll want to use the code below, replacing the image.jpg with the link to your photo.

Code: [Select]

Once you've done this you're ready to go!

Good luck posting your photos!

If you have any specific questions, please ask.

Onward!

@voyager: I've used this method to display a photo from outside E-P1.net, and I know you can also upload small photos directly into E-P1.net--this method displays a thumbnail that when you click it will display the photo in a new browser tab. But I have seen photos that shows as a thumbnail, but when you click it, the photo enlarges over top of the posting, without opening up in another tab. Sort of like a Flash graphic. How do you do this?

There is a special addon that I could install to do that, called Highslide viewer. I actually thought it was installed on the forum.
