Here's a new one of me (again, obligatory face covered by camera shot).  BTW since people are giving ages, I'm 34 (don't let the bald head fool you...my hair just decided to abandon me 9 years ago and I keep waiting for it to return...)

I would have never guessed your age, your hair abandoned you at 25? That's tough! But don't worry, 72% of women think bald headed men are sexy and its been proven that the earlier you become bald the smarter you are!

The edges of the eye shadow are a bit too sharp and clean, otherwise it looks totally real :)

Yes, it is.

So if the above is magic, then the following can only be listed as lethargic... ;)

Wonderful shot, I'm interested in the write up, ring flashes cost an arm an a leg. The light and pose are spot on, very rockstar sensual if you don mind me saying...

Thanks!

The setup for the ring light so far is fairly simple, and probably not usable in a number of situations unfortunately...  The light source is a circular fluorescent bulb, 9 inches in diameter; the brightest I could find (58W, 3700 lumen).  I'm just holding it about 2 feet in front of my face in the shot, no reflector, and could get a shutter speed of 1/1000s at iso 400 and f/1.7, which isn't ideal (especially the aperture) for a 'studio' type shot, but not bad.  With a completed reflector assembly it should increase the light a little bit.  I triggered the camera with my other hand on the remote shutter release.

So it works pretty well for this type of shot where there aren't any other light sources, but unfortunately it has no ability to change light output to adjust for the brightness of other lights, or do a 'flash' to really freeze everything at a small aperture.  I'm thinking about cutting a hole in the side of the reflector assembly to allow one or two hot shoe flashes to do their work though...  There are a number of guides I've seen online that cover both approaches.
