Exactly. During the 1930s and 1940s, the Nazis made this sort of thing work extremely well.

But they didn't have the Internet.
Be nice to each other, life is too short for anything else.

The reality is that there is almost no situation in the world of today where there is true equality, either from birth or throughout life. Equality is a myth that happens to be highly useful from a societal organisational point of view, but in truth has no actual implemented examples anywhere in life. People are not born equal. They never were, they never will be. How can they be? Some are born into very limiting opportunity, some are born into classes and castes that cannot be escaped or migrated from, some are born into apparently free societies where the benefit or not of the way a person thinks well or not is swept aside for the more modern illusion of instead having “rights” and striving to exercise them.
Rights must not be mixed with opportunities. Having no money or nothing to eat is different from being denied food as a part of your government's policy.

Anyway, it’s very telling that you say “all men are born equal”, implying that by definition, all women aren’t.
I am using "men" as a substitute for people. I mean every human being, male, female or both at the same time.

There’s another example - language separates people into unequal groupings with differences in the way they think, and more noticeably in these modern times, difference in the efficacy with which they can interact with the rest of the world, even before you’ve had a chance to decide which language you’ll have as the one you grow up speaking, and which belief system you grow up believing in. It’s not fair, it’s not equal, never was, never will be.

I did not say I was dreaming of seing people think or speak the same. Language is indeed a barier for those who do not speak english now, or french in the past or maybe Mandarin in the future, but this can be learned to one degree or another.
Some progress has been made on the topic however, as EU institutions are supposed to comunicate with me in my native language.
And yes, Ian, I must admit that you are correct that defacto people are not born the same, but I still dream of a world in which they will be treated the same. I am probably an utopist then. I guess I always will be.

Well, it’s only a handful of decades since the last of serfdom has gone away, but throughout history there’s been slavery, serfdom, hierarchy of command, royalty, feudalism, etc. The 20th century is a bit of an aberrative blip in that respect in that it was the only period where people started to pursue this “equality” aspect as though it were actually possible to live that way, and it certainly fooled a lot of people born in the post-war boom years, and in turn, their offspring, etc.

I don't see the internet as the great liberator.  Remember the situation in Iran? The internet is extremely vulnerable and can be shut down by any government at a moment's notice.

yes but when they do they show their hand as the oppressors they are

the cia main mission and the one they spend billions on each year is to shape the minds of the people  thru news print film and advertising  video games , that one reason why they are unlikely to shut it down here  exceoppt as a alst resort

there are still a few sheeple who trust these ghouls and allowing ,but managing dissent is part of a continuing plan
