Great perspective here. I love what you've done with this photo.

A wonderfully mysterious photo
May I ask what lens you used, and if an effect was used?

A wonderfully mysterious photo
May I ask what lens you used, and if an effect was used?

It was taken with my current favorite lens: an old Tokina OM-system 50mm f/1.8.

The only effect on this is the conversion to Black and White.  I used the "Infrared" preset in Aperture.  The red channel wasn't much different, but this lightened the grass a litte more providing better contrast to the subject, the knees.

Glad you picked up on mysterious.  At the point I took this, the trail was almost non-existent and I was more than a little afraid we would loose it.  So, some anxiety was inspiration at the moment.

Great shot, has a bit of old film style to it where they project a background to create an outdoor shot in a studio.
