Olympus Pen E-PL1 for Dummies!
« on: September 23, 2010, 08:33:04 AM »
Anyone use this book to learn more about their Pen cameras? We all know the manual that comes with the camera is sorely deficient, and I want to learn more - the tricks, if you will. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated too...

Start browsing around and if you find something that you doubt your knowledge about, google it or ask a straight question.
Also start reading random articles on Wikipedia's  Category:Photography in order to broaden your vision.
BTW, E-P1's manual is not so bad, but if you know what you are looking for.

I don't generally use books for my cameras, but I'm sure it is very helpful. Thanks for mentioning that book.

you dont need to be a "dummy"to know that the image quality of the epL1
is even superior to that of the ep1 and my gf1....! checked it out in person with my lens on the 2 different bodies at b and h a month ago, there is clearly an edge that goes to the epL1, i dont let it bother me .... i understand there is a lighter or no anti alias , and some firmware pp that makes the difference?
anyhow,
the epl1 is a superb instrument 8)

In addition to purchasing e-books for your iPad, don't forget that there are also several very good (and inexpensive) apps from the iTunes store. I can recommend three in particular: "Photo Buffet", "dSLR Toolkit for Dummies", and "PocketChris". Prices range from free to $4.99.
