I have been waiting for a good half case that doesn't cover up the grip. I just ordered this one. It's not overpriced like the OEM one

I can't find a lot of use in this particular half-case (more like a quarter case), but it's your call. Moving it to Accessories.

For me it protects the bottom of the camera from dings and scratches. I baby my camera and I have a few already =(

In this view yes, my E-P1 already has a few scratches on its bottom, so such a case would have been fine if it was installed in time.

I dropped my E-P3 with the (25mm panasonic lens attched! eek!) onto concrete - the strap slipped off my shoulder - so the bottom is kinda scuffed and chewed looking! Not too worried tho - it looks used now

Somehow the lens came off without a single mark on it

I would have been very, very, very upset if I'd have noticed any functional difference (and still worry that maybe somehow, something isn't quite right any more and i've just not noticed -yet-), but not worried about cosmetic stuff. Maybe I will be when I come to sell it one and get £50 less for it I'll care!

I have the olympus rip-off full case:

which I use when I want to take out just the camera with kit lens of days out with the wife etc, but if I'm carrying a camera bag I don't bother - I find the cases kinda annoying due to having to take them off to change card / battery, and although they have a tripod socket on the bottom, it's not really stable.

I like the one in your original post, but it doesn't look very sturdy.
